Wallowing in controversy as usual, the foursome - Winkie (Nuclear Age) Smith on bass and hollering, Snipe on guitar and bellowing, Deceive on lead guitar and sneering, and Bjorn von Flapjack III on skins - are not safely categorized as fans of the motor-mouthed Republican. Having previously released the critically-acclaimed single ‘Mayor On Crack’ about former Toronto mayor Rob Ford, SFH’s antipathy towards race-baiting rightist polemicists should surprise no one.
“Donald Trump is a jerk, just like Rob Ford,” said Winkie. “But they both make for great punk rock subject-matter.”
Indeed they do. Recorded in a dank basement somewhere in East Toronto over a weekend, ‘Donald Trump Is An Asshole’ is SFH’s contribution to what passes for political discourse Stateside. It’s noisy, it’s loud, it’s nasty. And it’s unlikely to become the real estate magnate’s ringtone anytime soon.
SFH - which stands for Shit From Hell, which you probably knew already - plans to use their latest single to wake up the sleepy American electorate, and turn the tide in Iowa and New Hampshire.
“He’s racist. He’s sexist. He’s a moron,” said Snipe, who the rest of the band always encourage to say what he really thinks. “Donald Trump is a modern nightmare. Wake up, people!”
